By definition:
Metabolic flexibility is the ability to respond or adapt to conditional changes in metabolic demand.
As we get older our body cells adapt slower.
Sometimes its a little bit slower to adapt to changing eating patterns, and time of meals, than a younger person.
What if you had a habit of eating carbs for long years, probably you haven’t some types of enzymes such as bile.
Because the body is not accustomed to producing it anymore.
There are some enzymes produced when you eat fats.
And the body stops producing when you are in a carbohydrate base diet.
To start to change the eating pattern and adapt easily
Change to a low carb diet first for some weeks.
Starting this way you allow your body to develop the enzymatic ability to process stored fuel (body fat).
After this period of adaptation you can start fasting.
It’s better to fast 2 days per week.
Because your body will be able to hold more time with no food intake.
